April Julep Maven Box 2013

Helloooooo!

Man oh man has it been a busy Saturday!  My hubby and I went to a bunny rescue to start the adoption process for our new baby bunny :D  It was an extremely long to-do getting everything started tho, so I'm slightly irritated.  And then we had to come home and clean because I am expecting a couple of gal pals over to do a belated birthday celebration (I'll elaborate on my birthday in a later post haha).  I was able to sneak in time to do a mani with my new Julep's...

Colors Used: Julep - Ally and Janel

I... love... these... colors!!!  The inspiration behind this months colors are neon lights and rainbows.  I can totally get down with that lol.

I started with 2 coats of Ally (blue) and Janel (fuchsia) and then used my striping brush to paint my lines.

Here's what came in my box. 2 polishes and the new "Mighty Stick".  It is a nail and cuticle serum that should be applied twice a day.  I've only had it for one day and already I can't imagine being without it!  I also received a rock candy sucker, but that immediately went into my mouth hence... no picture lol.

I am so sad that I have to take this mani off :'(  But I have 3 Easter services that I'm singing in tomorrow so subtle nails I must have *sigh*.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Until next time!

Tri Polish Challenge - Day 4

Happy Thursday!

It's the final day of the March Tri Polish Challenge and as fun as these colors are, I'm glad to see them go hahaha.  For this last mani I attempted something... prehistoric?

Coral, Purple, Green, Dino, nails, nail art, nail design, mani
Colors Used: Spoiled - Let's Get Sushi, Sally Hansen - Green With Envy, Jesse's Girl - Spring Break

He's fat.  A fat chubby dino. *sigh*

I imagined something much more detailed with different shades of green and such.  But with my limited color palette, I went with something more sticker like.  He ended up just looking plump lol.

I shall call him Bob.  Hi Bob!

Don't forget to check out the other wonderful manis :)

Until next time!

Comic Pow!

Hiya!

I want to share a mani that I did last week :)  I was inspired by a mnai that I saw by Lots A Finger Paints.....

Colors Used: Julep - Sarah and Felicity, Rimmel - Black Satin, Sally Hansen - White On

Sponging, painting, splattering... this mani was a lot of fun to do :)  It's kind of like a combination between comic and graffiti.

I don't love it, I don't hate it, I just sort of like it hahaha.

Soooo yea!  I hope you all have a fabulous day :D

Until next time!

Tri Polish Challenge - Day 3

Good morning, dearies!

Today's post features my third installment in the Crumpet's Tri Polish Challenge.  I decided to do something a little "sweet"...

Purple, Orly, Shine On Crazy Diamond, Green, Coral, Glitter, Candy, Lollipop, Tri Polish Challenge, March, Day 3, Sally Hansen, Green With Envy Jesse's Girl, Spring Break, nails, nail art, nail design, mani
Colors Used: Jesse's Girl - Spring Break, Spoiled - Let's Get Sushi, Sally Hansen - Green With Envy, Orly - Shine On Crazy Diamond

I racked my brain for a looooong time trying to think of something fun/different to do with these polishes.  This challenge is a lot harder than I thought it would be!  Lollipops popped into my head and then I remembered a mani that Chalkboard nails did recently with little candies on them.  While hers are A LOT better, I liked the way this mani turned out :)

The Crumpet said that we had full use of glitters as toppers so I added 1 coat of Shine On Crazy Diamond to finish the mani :)

As much fun as I'm having... these polishes are going to be "put to bed" after Thursday.  I don't want to look at them anymore lol.  Don't forget to check out the other fab mani's for today's challenge :D

Until next time!

Church Mani: Playing With Textures

Hello lovely readers!

It's been a while since I've posted on of these.  I try to keep my church mani's subdued and appropriate because I sing for the Hour of Power and don't want to create any sort of production trouble.  Today's mani, while being subtle in color palette, is a mix of fun...

Julep, Julianna, Patti, Essie, Beyond Cozy, Hard Candy, Black Tie Optional, NYC Matte Me Crazy, polish, nails, nail art, nail design, mani
Colors Used: Julep - Julianne and Patti, Essie - Beyond Cozy, Hard Candy - Black Tie Optional

Really... I just wanted another excuse to wear Black Tie Optional.  I love it so much!  Lol.

Julianne is 2 coats, Patti is 1 coat a top of Rimmel's Black Satin, Beyond Cozy is 3 coats for complete opacity.  My thumb and index finger got 1 coat of Black Tie Optional, while my ring finger was topped with NYC's Matte Me Crazy Top Coat.  A quick and easy mani with lots of personality!  :)

Yay nails! Hahaha...

Until next time!

Julep Spring Mystery Box 2013

Hey there!  Another quick post from me today.  It is gorgeous outside and I plan on taking full advantage of it :)

I mentioned earlier this week that my Julep Mystery Box came in and I wanted to feature it in a post.  I recieved all kinds of goodies!

Julep, Mystery Box, March 2013, Camilla, Grace, Sarah, Julianne, Pomegranate Body Creme, swatches, nails, nail polish, nail art, nail design, mani
This is how my box looked when I opened it up.  I was a little hesitant to purchase this mystery box because it was $25 this month vs. the $20 they are normally...

Julep, Mystery Box, March 2013, Camilla, Grace, Sarah, Julianne, Pomegranate Body Creme, swatches, nails, nail polish, nail art, nail design, mani
The first thing that I pulled out was this Pomegranate Body Creme.  It... is... amazing!!  I have used this lotion twice since getting it and I'm in love.  Although I am not crazy about the scent.  Me and fruity just don't see eye to eye haha.  But the way it makes my skin feel definitely outweighs my dislike of the smell :)

Julep, Mystery Box, March 2013, Camilla, Grace, Sarah, Julianne, Pomegranate Body Creme, swatches, nails, nail polish, nail art, nail design, mani
I then pulled out this little pouch of awesome!  I've yet to use it but I've received this in past boxes and I'm a fan.  It's great for on-the-go polish removal.

Julep, Mystery Box, March 2013, Camilla, Grace, Sarah, Julianne, Pomegranate Body Creme, swatches, nails, nail polish, nail art, nail design, mani
I grabbed these little treats next.  Hair ties, a nail file and chocolate eggs??  Yes, please!

Julep, Mystery Box, March 2013, Camilla, Grace, Sarah, Julianne, Pomegranate Body Creme, swatches, nails, nail polish, nail art, nail design, mani
And then.... bah bah dahdah!! (Cute chevron bag right???)

Julep, Mystery Box, March 2013, Camilla, Grace, Sarah, Julianne, Pomegranate Body Creme, swatches, nails, nail polish, nail art, nail design, mani
 Camilla, Grace, Sarah and Julianne!

I already own Sarah and she's a beauty!  The other 3 were a pleasant surprise.  I wasn't sure how I felt about the selection until I put them on...

All swatches are 2 coats without top coating.  I think they are all lovely in their own way :)  Maybe slightly odd combined together lol.

In my opinion, I think this was an excellent mystery box!  The products in my box retail over $70 so I feel like I got my bang for my buck :)  Did any of you order mystery boxes this go around?  What did you get??

Until next time!

Drip, Drip, Drop!

Good afternoon, lovies!

I have to make this post quick and to the point because I have to rush off to work haha.  I just finished these about 5 mins ago, please forgive the cuticle oil...

Sally Hansen, White On, NPW Rainbow Nail Art Pens neon, drip, melt, merge, nails, nail art, nail design, mani
Colors Used:  Sally Hansen - White On, NPW Rainbow Micro-Nib Nail Art Pens

I LOVE the way these turned out!

I bought the nail art pens last year while shopping at Urban Outfitters and I've only used them on one occassion.   I figured they need some attention ;)

I'm so sorry that I don't have the time to get into more details with this mani, but I hope you enjoy it :)  Something fun and funky to brighten my day haha.  Now off to work I go!

Until next time!

Tri Polish Challenge - Day 2

Hello, lovelies!

I'm back with another TPC mani.  For those unfamiliar, I am participating in a new challenge that The Crumpet has started.  I had no idea what to do for my day 2 nail art so I pulled out my striping brush and just started painting...

Colors Used: Sally Hansen - Green With Envy, Jesse's Girl - Spring Break, Spoiled - Let's Get Sushi

Honestly... I don't know what this is.  But I kinda like it :)

I really don't know how to expound on this mani.  It was a completely fluke.  I just... painted.

Be sure to check out the other wonderful mani's below!  Oooo and... any suggestions you may have for a mani would be awesome lol.

Until next time!

Tri Polish Challenge - Day 1

Hello, hello!

I'm so excited about today's post because I am starting my very first nail art challenge :D   Debbie over at The Crumpet is pretty well known in the nail blogging world.  She has come up with the most popular nail challenges that you can find on the interwebs and this latest one is pretty fantastic!

From what I gather she has gotten together with her friend Ashley and come up with the "Tri Polish Challenge".  Details can be found on her blog, but the idea is to create 4 mani's each month using the same 3 polishes.  Now this post is coming just under the wire because I was sick in bed when I got home from work and I forgot :\  But I really do want to participate in this challenge so... here we go!

The Crumpet Trip Polish Challenge, March, Day 1, coral, green, purple, polka dot, nails, nail art, nail design, mani

Because I'm not feeling so hot, I did polka dots this first go around. Quick and easy.  It's my favorite go to design :)

And these are my polishes for the month... Spoiled - Let's Get Sushi, Sally Hansen - Green With Envy, Jesse's Girl - Spring Break

*Sigh*... I lurvs polka dots!

I'm hoping to come up with some genius nail art ideas using these polishes, but... that may not happen lol.  I'll have another tri polish mani for you Thursday :)  Don't forget to check out the other awesome mani's below!

Until next time!

Rockin' Some Hard Candy

Good morning, starshine!

I'm loving the mani I'm sharing today!  Ever since I read the press release for the new line of Hard Candy polishes at Wally World (aka Walmart) I've been super excited and on the hunt.  I went to my local store but the apparently have stopped carrying Hard Candy's products.  So I went to the next town over... their stock had been completely rifled thru and the one polish I've been drooling over (Gummy Green) was completely gone *sniff*.  So I decided to pick up the next best...

Colors Used: Julep - Dendrie, Hard Candy - Black Tie Optional

I cannot get enough of this glitter!!

"Crystal Confetti Collection. A unique collection based on artistic expression. Flourishing, adventurous, full coverage shades with various particle sizes and creative textures. Graffiti is revolutionary; it's an outlet to create public art. Now take this artistic and creative expression to your nails."

Hard Candy, Crystal Confetti, Black Tie Optional, Julep, Dendrie, glitter, chunky, black, white, rocks, nails, nail art, nail design, mani

I started with 2 coats of Dendrie (one of my favorite greys) and topped it with 1 coat of Black Tie Optional.  This was a perfect mani to be wearing on the gloomy day we had yesterday :)

I think what I love most about Black Tie is the various sizes and shapes of the black and white glitters.  I feel like my nails almost look like rocks.  Just 1 coat was compacted with so much glitter... It's awesome!

I am feeling a little under the weather so I may not post again until the weekend, I'm sorry :(  But I promise to have good stuff to share when I return!  On second thought... I did just receive my Julep Spring Mystery Box and it was filled with all kinds of goodies worth sharing... we shall see ;)

Until next time!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I'm getting this post in just in the nick of time!  Hahaha hi there :)

I did this mani in a bit of a hurry but I'm really very pleased with how it turned out.  I literally got home from church, did my nails, took a 30 min cat-nap and then drove to a barbecue to celebrate my father in-law's birthday (which is today... which makes him the greatest leprechaun I know lol)...

St Patricks Day, rainbow, clover, pot of gold, plaid, green, gold, nails, nail art, nail design, mani

A little bit of everything :D

Colors Used: Revlon - Mon Cherry and Mad About Mango, Sally Hansen -  Mellow Yellow, Green With Envy, Golden-I and White On, Essie - Mojito Madness, Love & Beauty - Green Tea, Julep - Annie and Bette, OPI - Goldeneye

Please ignore the glass of beer behind the polishes.  I'm feeling... festive ;)

I am one happy lady :D

Yay for St Patty!!

So I'm filling in for my boss at the beginning of this week.  I will try to keep up with my posts but I'm not making any promises :P

Until next time!
